OVMA Website Redevelopment
About the Project
The Ontario Veterinary Medical Association (OVMA) recognized the need to modernize its outdated website, which faced significant usability issues and numerous user complaints. I was tasked with leading the association's website redevelopment project, collaborating closely with a website development agency to create a more user-friendly and engaging platform.
I conducted a comprehensive audit of over 200+ pages of existing content, identifying content for removal, revision and new development to ensure the new website was accurate, relevant and current. Throughout the process, I consulted with senior management and major stakeholders, maintained clear communication with the development agency, and kept the project on track.
To ensure optimal functionality and a seamless user experience, I led a two-week user testing phase with both internal and external stakeholders. Following the successful launch, I orchestrated an awareness campaign that included social media and newsletter communications to introduce the new website to our audience.
Managed through the Kentico web content management system, the revamped website now features a fully customizable classifieds section, seamless database integration, a powerful search function, dedicated event and news sections and a comprehensive resource library tailored to the needs of our members and the broader veterinary community. The website received the Website of the Month Award from Kentico Software.
